ICICI Bank Raises Metro Account Minimum Balance to ₹50,000

From Aug 1, new ICICI Bank metro/urban savings accounts must maintain ₹50,000 MAB — up from ₹10,000 earlier.

Shortfall penalty is 6% of the deficit, capped at ₹500 per month. Charges apply if MAB is not met.

RBI confirms banks are free to set their own MAB requirements. No intervention planned for ICICI’s ₹50K rule.
